Supporting the Rosenberg Family during this difficult time.
Story
**UPDATE**
Katelyn here… thank you to everyone who has donated to support Nicole, Dustin and Aubrey thus far. We have all been overwhelmed with the amount of love and support we have received. Cory and I appreciate it more than you know ❤️
Ryder Alexander Rosenberg – son, brother, grandchild, nephew, cousin, and friend, walked beside us for far too short a time. After a courageous, well-fought battle with childhood cancer, he has gained his angel wings and earned his peaceful and eternal rest at 7 years of age on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Ryder felt like the sunshine on your skin. He was goofy, happy, incredibly smart, and kind. He played baseball, lacrosse, and he loved spending his time on the soccer field with his sister and the rest of his family. He was obsessed with Fortnite, Spiderman, and low taper fades.
Ryder was diagnosed with fusion positive high-risk rhabdomyosarcoma in February 2024. He immediately began an aggressive treatment protocol to which he responded wonderfully. He had proton and photon radiation every day over the course of six weeks throughout the summer. His mother, Nicole, made the difficult decision to become a stay at home mom, as well as Ryder’s primary caregiver. So many memories were made in Ryder’s remaining time. He attended a Cincinnati Reds game, went to see Transiberian Orchestra during the holiday season, and he even got to deliver the game ball for FC Cincinnati during their “Kick Childhood Cancer” night. He finished first grade while in treatment and had a wonderful summer at home with his mom and sister. When his blood counts were low and his immunity was down, he spent a lot of time at his dad’s house playing video games and making memories. He became an absolute Fortnite master. He began second grade in the fall of 2024. He went fishing with his step dad, and even shot a rifle with him. He had the most wonderful Christmas at home with his mom, step dad and sisters. Then he had a SECOND one with his dad, step mom, sisters and brother. The pictures from that Christmas will be forever cherished.
Ryder completed treatment in December 2024, then unfortunately relapsed just before the new year. His bell ringing ceremony was postponed. Ryder began his second treatment in January, and had follow-up scans 3 months later. By April 3rd, 2025, Ryder’s cancer had relapsed again, and spread quite aggressively. He made memories at the zoo with Mommy, his sister, and their friends. He attended a family bowling party. He went to an arcade, played putt putt golf and went go karting with Daddy for the very first time.
On April 26th, 2025, Ryder was taken to the hospital and admitted due to buildup of fluid in his abdomen. After 23 nights in the hospital, Ryder wanted nothing more than to just go home. He wanted to be with his dogs and cats, play his video games, and to sleep in his own bed. His parents, Cory and Nicole, made the very difficult and loving decision to preserve his quality of life and to bring him home.
He got to sleep in his own bed. He was surrounded by his entire family, and most importantly, love.
Please help this family navigate life moving forward without Ryder, if you are able. His mother will be home with his sister throughout the summer, before she is able to begin working again. His siblings will need a world of support to get them through the summer and prepared for school in the fall. He brightened so many lives with his brief presence, and he will be missed more than words can express.
